Here’s the video I created to walk you through turning on notifications for your favorite YouTube channels:
If you’ve ever subscribed to a YouTube channel and then still missed new uploads, the issue is probably your notification settings. Subscribing alone doesn’t guarantee alerts — you need to activate the notification bell.
In the video, I show you exactly how to do this. Go to the channel you’re subscribed to and look for the bell icon next to the “Subscribed” button. Tap it, and you’ll see three options: None, Personalized, and All.
To get alerts for every new video, choose “All.” This way, you’ll receive push notifications or emails (depending on your settings) each time the creator uploads.
On mobile, you might need to go into your phone’s settings as well to allow YouTube to send notifications — I touch on this in the video.
Why bother? If a creator’s content is important to you — whether it’s educational, inspirational, or just plain entertaining — having notifications turned on ensures you never miss a post. It’s especially useful for channels that upload irregularly or during product launches, events, or live streams.
I use this feature to keep up with channels I learn from regularly. It’s a small tweak that makes a big difference in staying up to date.
