Growing up.

Whilst growing up, we’ve all faced that age-old question: “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

For many, the answer would transition from astronaut to firefighter, from doctor to pop star, in a span of a few years.

But for those with the entrepreneurial spirit, that question has always been a little more complicated.

Even now, with numerous projects under my belt and countless late nights strategizing the next big thing, I find myself reverting to that question.

While the childlike innocence of it brings a smile, it’s the depth and uncertainty behind it that sets me thinking.

Entrepreneurship isn’t a job; it’s a way of life.

But even within this vast realm, where does one’s heart truly lie? Is it in building and scaling startups?

In mentoring and investing in the dreams of others? Perhaps it’s in the hustle and chaos of it all, the very act of creation and innovation.

Continued entrepreneurship feels like sailing on vast waters.

There’s no definitive end, no surety of shores, just the thrill of the voyage and the challenges it brings. The waves sometimes guide you; at other times, they test your resilience.

Yet, each day brings a new horizon, a fresh challenge, and a renewed spirit to conquer it.

So, when I look into the mirror and ponder that question, my answer isn’t tied to a specific role or designation.

Instead, it revolves around the journey itself. I want to be a problem solver, a dreamer, and a doer.

I want to be someone who isn’t deterred by failures but is fueled by them. Someone who doesn’t wait for opportunities but creates them.

The beauty of entrepreneurship is that it allows for evolution.

The founder in me might become an investor tomorrow, the mentor might go back to being a student, and the leader might decide to follow a new passion.

And that’s okay.

In the grand scheme of things, it’s not about the destination but the journey. It’s about evolving, adapting, and growing.

So, while the child inside may still be pondering over that question, the entrepreneur in me responds with a smile, “I want to be on this journey, wherever it takes me.”

In the end, maybe that’s the best answer any of us can give.

Because while the landscapes of our aspirations might change, the core passion driving us remains unwavering.

And as long as that fire burns bright, the journey of discovery, both of oneself and the world around, continues.
