The fact that UK pension funds are trading on margin should scare people. And it’s the real story as to why there is craziness going on in markets last couple of days.
Most people in the UK don’t even know that pension funds actually trade their investments…let alone on margin! 
Now they’re getting margin calls and forcing BoE’s hand to step in. Crazy times.
It should make people question the fact that they allow someone to invest their future for them in the form of a pension.
I remember years ago someone raising their eyebrows at me when I said some of my money was in an index-fund tracking ETF (probably the safest investment you can make outside of gov bonds)…
…He had his entire net worth in a pension!!
