I created this video to show how to enable Dark Mode on Mac, which not only looks better at night but can also reduce eye strain during long work sessions.

Dark Mode applies across system menus, Finder windows, Safari, and supported apps — and it’s quick to toggle on or off. In the video, I walk through:

  1. Opening System Settings > Appearance
  2. Choosing Dark, Light, or Auto (based on time of day)
  3. How it affects Safari, Notes, and Finder
  4. Bonus: setting up keyboard shortcuts using automation tools
  5. Switching via Control Center > Display on newer macOS versions

I personally use Auto mode — light during the day and dark at night — to stay visually balanced across long editing and writing blocks.

Do you prefer Dark Mode by default, or just use it occasionally?
