Has anyone had any success with translating their sites and going with a multi-lingual approach?

Judging from generic SEO blogs, there’s a movement of people who have their pages translated and see a big uptick in SEO.

I was thinking having the actual translated pages would aid me in grabbing those extra clicks on the specific Google sites (google.fr, google,es, etc etc).

Then again, I’m not 100% clued up on this – maybe it’s not worth the effort and the vast majority of buyers are just using the US or UK Google to search for what they need? Guess this is industry specific, too.

I’m guessing my English language pages don’t show up in other languages’ Google search results? As in, those multitudes of countries I see in my traffic stats are finding my sites just using Google US/UK rather than their native county’s search?

Have you has your site translated? What were your results? Did you just use Google Translate to do it (I know this isn’t advised), or pay for human translation? Or use something like Polylang Pro?
