I made this quick tutorial to show how to change the display language in Chrome. Whether you’re bilingual or just prefer your browser in another language, this setting is easy to update:
In the video, I guide you step-by-step through Chrome’s language settings. Just follow these steps:
- Open Chrome Settings
- Scroll down and click Advanced > Languages
- Click Add Languages, search for the one you want, and add it
- Once added, click the three dots beside it and select “Display Google Chrome in this language”
- Restart Chrome to apply the change
You can also reorder your language preferences, which tells Chrome which language to prioritize when visiting multilingual sites.
This setting is helpful if you’re learning a new language and want immersion, or if Chrome installed with the wrong default language — which can happen when switching devices or accounts.
I’ve used this to switch between English and Spanish depending on the content I’m working with.
Would you ever browse the web in a second language to practice?
