I created a quick video on my channel that shows how to endorse someone’s skills on LinkedIn. Here’s the tutorial:

Endorsements on LinkedIn are one of the simplest yet most effective ways to show support for someone’s professional skills. Whether it’s a colleague, freelancer you’ve worked with, or even a friend who’s great at what they do — an endorsement gives their profile a credibility boost.

In the video above, I walk you through how to find someone’s profile, locate their Skills section, and endorse them with just one click. It’s incredibly easy and takes less than a minute.

To start, just search for the person you want to endorse. Scroll down to their Skills area, and you’ll see a list of abilities they’ve added to their profile — like Public Speaking, Python, or Project Management. Each skill has a little “+” button next to it. Click it, and you’ve officially endorsed them.

LinkedIn may ask you how you know this person has the skill (like if you’ve worked together), but it’s optional. If you endorse frequently, LinkedIn even starts suggesting people based on your connections.

Endorsements aren’t the same as recommendations — those are written paragraphs. This is more of a quick tap to say, “Yes, I vouch for this.”

I use endorsements as a low-pressure way to stay connected with people. It’s like a LinkedIn version of liking a post — but with professional value attached. The best part? It encourages reciprocity. When you endorse someone, there’s a decent chance they’ll return the favor.

One small tip from the video: don’t go overboard. Endorsing someone for 30 skills they don’t actually use can make your endorsement feel less meaningful. Stick to what you know they’re great at.

Have you ever endorsed someone on LinkedIn? Or gotten an unexpected endorsement that made your day?
