I created this video to show you how to delete email lists inside Kajabi — quickly, cleanly, and without breaking anything important.
Kajabi’s Contacts section can get messy over time, especially if you’re experimenting with tags, segments, or automations. Whether you’re decluttering your marketing system or removing test lists, this quick guide will walk you through how to do it the right way.
Step 1: Go to the “Contacts” section
From your Kajabi dashboard, head to People > Contacts.
This is where you manage all of your subscribers, leads, and customers.
You’ll see a full list of everyone in your system — but we’re focusing on lists or segments, which Kajabi organizes through filters and tags.
Step 2: Filter by tag or segment
If you’ve previously used tags like “Newsletter-Test” or “Launch-Segment-B,” you can locate them by:
-
Clicking Filters
-
Choosing a tag or segment from the dropdown
-
Applying the filter to display only those users
This is essentially your “email list” in Kajabi’s structure.
Step 3: Select and delete contacts
Once the filtered list appears:
-
Use the checkbox at the top to select all contacts in that segment
-
Click the “More Actions” button
-
Choose “Delete”
Kajabi will prompt you to confirm — and once accepted, those contacts will be permanently removed from your account.
⚠️ Important: This cannot be undone. Be 100% sure you don’t need these contacts or that they’re part of any active automation or email sequence.
Step 4: (Optional) Remove the tag or segment
Once the contacts are deleted, you can also:
-
Delete the associated tag by going to Settings > Tags
-
Remove any unused smart segments that no longer serve a purpose
Keeping this area clean makes your email marketing more efficient and your analytics more accurate.
Bonus tip: Export before deleting
If you’re nervous about deleting contacts, use the Export function first to download a CSV backup. That way, if you ever need them later, you’ve still got their info safely stored offline.
Why decluttering your Kajabi contacts matters
-
Improves list hygiene
-
Lowers your subscriber count for tiered pricing
-
Prevents email fatigue from inactive leads
-
Helps you stay organized and focused
In the video, I show how I clean up my own Kajabi lists during quarterly reviews or after big launches — it keeps everything smooth and stress-free.
Is your Kajabi contact list still cluttered with old tags and test leads — or are you finally streamlining your CRM like a pro?
