I created this video to show how to remove the author name from your WordPress posts, which is something many site owners want to do for aesthetic or branding reasons.

Depending on your theme, WordPress may display the author name by default on all blog posts — and sometimes on archive pages too. In this tutorial, I cover three methods to hide or remove it:
- Using a plugin like “WP Meta and Date Remover”
- Editing your theme settings (some themes have a toggle for this)
- Manually editing the theme’s PHP files via a child theme (for advanced users)
I also explain the pros and cons of each method and why using a plugin is the safest route for most users. If you’re using a theme like Astra, GeneratePress, or Kadence, you’ll often find built-in options to turn off metadata like author name and publish date.
I’ve used this method on niche sites where I want the focus to be on the content or brand rather than the writer.
Are you building a personal brand on your site, or keeping things anonymous?
