I recorded a short tutorial that shows how to unpin a post from the top of your Facebook Page. Here’s the video:
Pinned posts on Facebook Pages are great for highlighting announcements, offers, or important content. But when it’s time to update or remove that spotlight, unpinning is just as important.
In the video, I demonstrate how to do this on both mobile and desktop.
Start by navigating to your Facebook Page. At the top of your timeline, you’ll see the pinned post (marked with a little blue pin icon). Click the three dots in the top-right corner of the post, and you’ll see the option to “Unpin from top of page.” Tap it, and you’re done.
Once unpinned, the post will return to its normal chronological spot in your timeline.
This is especially useful if your pinned content is outdated — like a past event, temporary promotion, or an old announcement that’s no longer relevant.
I also suggest setting a monthly reminder to review your pinned post. It’s easy to forget it’s up there, and if it’s stale, it can give the wrong impression to new visitors.
One small note — only Page admins and editors can pin or unpin posts. If you’re managing a team page, make sure you have the right permissions.
Do you use pinned posts strategically, or do you often forget they’re there?
