I recorded this video to walk you through how to pin a post in a Facebook Group — it’s a little different than pinning on a Page:
Groups often rely on pinned posts (now called “Featured” posts) to set the tone, share rules, or keep members updated on ongoing discussions. In this tutorial, I show you how to promote a post to the top so everyone sees it first.
Go to the group, find the post you want to pin, click the three dots on the top-right of the post, and choose “Mark as announcement” (or “Pin to Featured” depending on Facebook’s current layout).
Once marked, it will appear at the top of the group’s feed in the Featured section — either as a carousel or single post, depending on how many you’ve pinned.
This feature is especially helpful for moderators who want to keep things organized. I use it in groups I manage to highlight monthly updates, link to new videos, or promote community challenges.
Do you use Facebook Groups actively? What kinds of posts do you think should be pinned most often?
