I created this video to show how to pin a post on X, formerly Twitter — which is one of the easiest ways to spotlight your most important content.

Pinning a tweet lets you control what visitors see first when they land on your profile. Whether it’s a top-performing post, an intro thread, or a call to action, your pinned tweet is prime real estate — so it’s worth using strategically.

Step 1: Find the tweet you want to pin

Scroll through your feed or go to your profile to find the tweet you want to pin. This could be:

  • A thread introducing who you are and what you offer
  • A new product or course launch
  • A viral tweet that got tons of engagement
  • A helpful tutorial or content piece

In the video, I show how I rotate my pinned post every couple of weeks depending on what I’m promoting.

Step 2: Click the three dots

In the top-right corner of the tweet, click the three-dot menu, then select “Pin to your profile.”

If you already have something pinned, X will ask you to confirm replacing it.

Step 3: Visit your profile to confirm

Once pinned, go to your profile and scroll up — you’ll see the tweet stuck right at the top. It will stay there until you manually unpin or replace it.

Pinned tweets are useful because:

  • They get the most visibility from new visitors
  • They often get more likes and retweets over time
  • They’re a soft form of lead gen or brand-building

Pro tips from the video:

  • Use a tweet with a strong hook or visual
  • If it’s a thread, make sure the first tweet is compelling
  • Add a clear CTA (like “Follow for more” or “Grab the free guide here”)
  • Update it regularly to reflect your latest offer or focus

Are you pinning evergreen content, or rotating promotions with your pinned post strategy?
