One of the best things I did last year for my company was track goals (and everything) like a psycho 😎
I’ve always been obsessed with tracking things, but last year I quantified everything with a dashboard in Notion and it has been one of the best things I’ve ever done for motivation.
Using Notion, I could see everything at a glance. I assigned rough time limits for the goals using a quarterly system, roughly based on goal setting/time management stuff I’ve read in the past (90 day year, etc).
It’s super motivational seeing the percentages change! I would update things monthly, or when something major changed and this became a habit.
A lot of the completed entries are where monthly goals were achieved and I had to add new goals to catch up!
I learnt years ago that the best way to improve anything is to start tracking it. I originally started doing it with things like website traffic years ago and then I realised it works with money, too!
The old quote normally attributed to Peter Drucker is so true: “What gets measured gets managed.”
I added new things to the dashboard and they kept getting achieved! 👌
A couple of entries like the ‘countries visited’ one are rolling goals over a number of years and will get added into the following year’s tracker. I also track way more stuff in more granular detail, but I have included only 1 tracker here for brevity’s sake.
Obviously, I’ve removed the monetary stuff to preserve privacy. And, yes, I track net worth like a total sociopath! 😂
But, yeah, thought some people might find this helpful – I’m often asked to post more business related stuff. This can be setup in Notion and I can provide the template if anyone’s really interested.
Notion is great as you can customize everything and have all kinds of trackers/note taking dashboards, as you can see on the left panel.
Hopefully this is motivational for any kind of goal tracking you want to do this year – be in business, finance, health & fitness, etc.
