I created this tutorial to show how to lock your Netflix profile with a PIN — especially useful if you share your account with others and want to keep your watch list private. Watch it here:
Netflix lets you create multiple profiles, but by default, anyone can switch between them. If you’re using a shared account, locking your profile adds an extra layer of privacy and keeps your recommendations accurate.
In the video, I walk through these steps:
- Log into Netflix on a web browser
- Go to Account > Profile & Parental Controls
- Select your profile
- Click Profile Lock and set a 4-digit PIN
Once enabled, Netflix will ask for this PIN every time someone tries to open your profile. It’s a great way to prevent kids, roommates, or family members from messing up your watch history or suggestions.
You can also choose whether or not the PIN is required to add a new profile, which is helpful for stopping unauthorized changes.
I personally use this to keep my main profile clean, especially after seeing weird kids’ shows pop up in my Continue Watching list.
Have you locked your profile yet, or are you still profile-hopping?
