I created this tutorial to help you make any YouTube playlist private — perfect if you’re building something behind the scenes or don’t want others seeing your saved videos. Watch it here:
YouTube makes it easy to share playlists, but sometimes you want one that’s just for you — whether it’s for research, client projects, or unfinished uploads.
In the video, I show how to:
- Open YouTube Studio
- Go to Playlists
- Click the Edit icon (pencil) next to the playlist you want to change
- Set the visibility to Private or Unlisted
Private means only you can view it. Unlisted allows access only to people who have the link — it won’t show up in search or on your channel.
I also touch on how to check whether a playlist is private or public by looking for the lock icon and explain how to change it later.
This is useful if you’re collecting video ideas, managing a team workflow, or just not ready to share content yet.
Have you been using private playlists to stay organized behind the scenes?
