Ever written a great post on Facebook and wondered why people can’t share it? The reason usually comes down to privacy settings. In my latest tutorial, I show how to make any Facebook post shareable so friends, followers, or the public can spread your content effortlessly.
By default, Facebook limits who can share your posts based on your audience settings. Luckily, it only takes a few taps to fix this.
Here’s how:
On Desktop:
-
Go to the post you want to edit.
-
Click the three dots in the upper-right corner.
-
Choose “Edit Audience.”
-
Select “Public.”
On Mobile:
-
Tap the menu icon next to your post.
-
Select “Edit Privacy.”
-
Choose “Public” and save.
Once you change this setting, a “Share” button will appear beneath your post for everyone — not just friends.
You can also set your default audience to “Public” so future posts are automatically shareable:
-
Go to Settings → Privacy → Who can see your future posts.
-
Select Public.
I recommend keeping personal updates for friends only, but setting educational, business, or promotional posts to public for maximum reach.
Making your content shareable is one of the easiest ways to boost engagement. When others share your post, it exposes your content to entirely new audiences — all without ads or extra effort.
In just a few clicks, you can turn any post into a shareable piece of content that travels further and grows your visibility organically. If you’re using Facebook to build awareness or promote something meaningful, always double-check your privacy setting before posting.
