Did you know you can make any Canva design interactive by adding clickable links? Whether it’s a PDF guide, digital planner, or online presentation, linking text or buttons makes your designs more engaging and professional. In my new tutorial, I show exactly how to add clickable links in Canva — the quick and easy way.
Clickable links are especially useful for lead magnets, digital downloads, e-books, or course materials. They allow viewers to jump straight to websites, email addresses, or external resources.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Open Your Design
Start by selecting the design you want to edit in Canva.
2. Highlight Text or Select an Element
You can add links to text boxes, shapes, or even images.
3. Click the Link Icon (🔗)
You’ll find it in the top toolbar when an element is selected.
4. Paste Your URL
Enter your website, affiliate link, or social profile. Then press Enter to apply.
5. Download as a PDF
To make the links work properly, always download your design as a PDF Standard or PDF Print. Links don’t function in image files like JPG or PNG.
Bonus Tip:
If you’re creating digital planners or workbooks, use text boxes or icons to make navigation easier. Linking between pages gives your design an interactive, app-like feel.
Adding links in Canva is one of those small features that can make a big difference. It transforms static designs into interactive, professional assets that enhance user experience.
I use this all the time for downloadable guides and media kits — it saves time for the viewer and adds instant polish to any design.
Clickable links make your Canva creations more dynamic, functional, and user-friendly — all with just a few simple steps.
