Just had the weirdest check-in at a hotel ever!
It culminated in me having to show a screenshot on my phone of my OLD passport!
That was apparently admissible
The only time a hotel has ever wanted to see a photo ID is overseas.
“Do you have your passport, sir?”
When I said I don’t carry my passport around unless I’m travelling overseas, he was confused.
I said I’ve never been asked for photo ID when checking into a UK hotel in London or anywhere else (and I’ve been to 100s of hotels).
“We do in this kind of hotel, sir.” 😅
And then they had me assigned to a room under “Paul Crawford.”
He was treating me really respectfully, but in more of a, “Yeah, I know you’re an international thief of some kind.”
He was apologising profusely but gave me a look at the end which said, “I know you’ve pulled a scam here but I don’t know what kind.”
