I made this video to show how to search YouTube videos by duration — like short videos under 4 minutes, or long ones over 20. It’s one of YouTube’s most useful but hidden features:

Sometimes you want a quick tip. Other times, you’re looking for a full-length tutorial or deep dive. In the video, I explain how to filter search results by length on both desktop and mobile.

Here’s how:

  1. Search for your topic normally
  2. Click the Filters button
  3. Choose Short (<4 minutes) or Long (>20 minutes)

You can also combine this with other filters — like Upload Date or Channel — to refine your results further.

This is great for content creators looking to research formats, or viewers wanting to binge efficiently.

I personally use this when I want to avoid shorts and just find meatier tutorials.

Do you prefer short, fast content or long-form walkthroughs?
