I created this video to help you download your Twitter (X) data archive, which includes your tweets, DMs, media, and more — great for backups or migrating content.

Sometimes platforms change direction, and it’s smart to have a copy of your content just in case. In the tutorial, I show:

  1. Logging into Twitter (X)
  2. Going to Settings & Support > Settings and privacy
  3. Selecting Your account > Download an archive of your data
  4. Verifying your identity
  5. Submitting the request and downloading the ZIP file once ready

The download includes an HTML file you can open in your browser to browse old tweets and interactions.

I’ve used this archive to recover lost threads, repurpose content, and back up private DMs I needed for reference.

Have you ever downloaded a full export of your social content?
