I created this short tutorial to show how to download a Vimeo video when the download option is available — either for your own projects or content that’s been made downloadable by the creator.

Vimeo offers high-quality video hosting, and in many cases, creators give viewers permission to download their content directly. In this video, I walk you through how to:
- Open the Vimeo video page
- Scroll beneath the video window
- Look for the Download button (usually bottom-right)
- Choose your preferred resolution (1080p, 720p, etc.)
- Click to begin downloading
If you don’t see the option, it means the video owner hasn’t enabled downloads — and I explain why it’s important to respect those settings. No third-party tools or workarounds here — just the built-in Vimeo feature when it’s properly enabled.
I use this often when downloading videos from clients or collaborators who share review links via Vimeo.
Have you used Vimeo more as a viewer, or do you host your own content there too?
