I created this video to show you how to download a complete copy of your Facebook data — including posts, photos, comments, messages, and more.

Whether you’re leaving the platform, reviewing old content, or just backing things up, Facebook makes it surprisingly easy to request a full archive.

In the video, I walk you through:

  1. Going to Settings & Privacy > Settings
  2. Clicking Your Facebook Information
  3. Selecting Download Your Information
  4. Choosing what you want — everything or specific categories like photos, posts, or messages
  5. Picking the date range, format (HTML or JSON), and media quality

After that, you submit your request and Facebook will generate the file. It may take a few hours depending on the size. You’ll get a notification when it’s ready to download.

I’ve used this for archiving older content before deleting accounts or simply saving memories.

Have you ever tried downloading your entire Facebook history?
