Display ads really change (some might say Ruin) the look of your site. If you care about user experience (and you should!) it’s a big factor.
I care 100% about user experience. But I’m in a slightly edge case as in a very design influenced niche.
That’s not even getting into the many case studies that support display ads negatively affecting rankings through newly occurring site speed issues.
I know lots of people have had success with display ads here.
But don’t take my word for it, so the research -Reddit threads etc
Display ads are NOT the only way to monetize a site. If you think it’s the primary method, I’d be concerned where you’ve learned your stuff.
I would consider it a backup, something you use if you can’t monetize a post any other way.
Just my two cents. I do respect people who’s primary monetisation method is display ads.

Just I’m concerned about all these “quest for ad revenue” type posts. There are other monetisation methods Yes, they take more work. But are arguably better
But, hey, live your life. I definitely don’t want to become the anti-display ads guy here! I’ve just seen so many display ad craving posts here.
