This video shows how to set default upload settings for your YouTube channel — a massive time-saver if you upload regularly like I do:

Every time you upload a video, you’re asked to fill out the same basic info: title, description, tags, visibility, and more. Doing this over and over gets repetitive. That’s where YouTube’s Upload Defaults feature comes in.

In the video, I show how to access this setting in YouTube Studio:

  1. Go to Settings in the bottom-left corner.
  2. Click Upload Defaults.
  3. Set your default title format, description text, tags, visibility (public/unlisted/private), and category.

This is super helpful if you use a template for your descriptions (I include links, hashtags, affiliate info, etc.) or want certain tags applied to every upload automatically.

You can still override these defaults on a per-video basis — so you get convenience without losing flexibility.

Personally, I’ve saved hours by setting up upload defaults, especially since I publish content daily.

Do you use upload defaults on your channel, or are you still filling in every detail from scratch?
