What I’ve been looking for for some time is a combined 1000/1001 films by critics list, removing all duplicates. Kinda like the lists you see on places like IMDB and Letterboxed.
From what I understand, the consensus lists tend to be:
- They Shoot Pictures, Don’t They?
- Jonathan Rosenbaum’s 1000 Essential Films
- 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die
- Have You Seen . . . ?: A Personal Introduction to 1,000 Films
- The New York Times Guide to the Best 1,000 Movies Ever Made
- Halliwell’s Top 1000: The Ultimate Movie Countdown
But I’d be open to any kind of combined list that anyone has put together on Letterboxd.
Essentially, this would be all of the above lists combined into one big list, removing duplicates (of which there are quite a few). I think it should come to around 3000 films.
