I created this video to show how to check DNS propagation quickly when you’ve updated nameservers or made DNS changes for a domain.
Any time you switch hosts, set up a CDN, or move your site, DNS changes can take a while to fully propagate. This tool helps you confirm if it’s working worldwide.
In the video, I show:
- Going to a DNS checker tool like whatsmydns.net
- Entering your domain and selecting record type (A, CNAME, etc.)
- Viewing results from global DNS servers
- Understanding what a cached vs. updated result looks like
- When to wait vs. when to troubleshoot
I also explain how propagation usually takes 5 minutes to 48 hours, depending on TTL settings and DNS provider speed.
Do you check propagation after every domain update, or wait and hope it resolves?
