I made this video to show a powerful new method for automating video exporting in Final Cut Pro — perfect if you’re doing batch edits or publishing content at scale. Watch the tutorial:
If you’re editing regularly in Final Cut Pro, exporting each project manually can get repetitive fast. In this tutorial, I show how to:
- Use Final Cut Pro XML templates
- Set up Compressor presets for auto-export
- Drop .fcpxml files into a folder and trigger the export via Apple Automator or Terminal
This setup allows you to queue up edits, apply standard settings (like resolution, bitrate, LUTs), and let Compressor handle the render/export process in the background.
I also touch on how this can be paired with watch folders, so you just drop your FCPXML and let it run — no clicking required.
This has saved me countless hours when batch-producing tutorial content, especially when combining clips, presets, and automated rendering.
Would an automated export workflow speed up your editing pipeline?
