At this point I’ve tried to remove myself from all professional discussions of what works vs. doesn’t
Take great solace in fact that I don’t know everything 🤷♂️
But you know what I do know? Everyone in a certain area/industry can’t be right. They can’t all have the best way 😅
Take health & fitness for example. Classic example.
There are ‘multiple ways to skin a cat,’ I like to say.
See, most approaches to fat loss work on some level. Most approaches to muscle gain. Many approaches to health & fitness.
Most work and there are many variables.
But then you have those people in every niche who are so hardcore:
- you can’t be healthy if you’re not vegan,
- plant based is the only way,
- only a steak diet will put on muscle!
Just zeroing in on health & fitness for a minute to prove point, but some crazy stuff.
At this point, I just try and avoid all professional debates:
- this software vs. this one,
- this app is better than that
- You can’t do SEO properly unless you do x, y z
- This plugin is crap, this one’s the only one you need.
It’s shiny object syndrome writ large ✨
There are many ways to do things.
And I’ve been doing this long enough to have seen examples that break all of the standard codes and best practices and had massive success.
How many times have you had convos with intense web devs that tell you their way is the only way?
This theme is the best, this plugin is the best, this is the only way to increase rankings.
It’s all nonsense in the wider scheme of things.
Find your way and ignore the noise 🤷♂️
Always be learning…
Strong opinions weakly held 🔥
