Wondering a lot about the Amazon affiliate side of my business lately.
Here are my Amazon stats:
Should probably give some basics about the site before seeking feedback on this:
– Site isn’t a full-on Amazon affiliate site. I sell information products like courses and some other things. The Amazon links are a side thing.
– Site is fairly well aged and gets a large amount of traffic. Amazon affiliate articles of best-of, Buyer’s Guide type articles. Majority of site is info based (probably 90/10).
– The Amazon affiliate links side of the site has historically been a side hussle, not the central part of the site and its monetization.
– I’ve recently pushed out a lot more Amazon affiliate based content in the form of Buyer’s Guides.
– I’ve done a lot of detailed keyword research, targeting long tails with good searches and limited competition. Those articles are just starting to rank.
– Niche is a big niche with tonnes and tonnes of different kinds of products on Amazon and plenty of scope to branch out into related niches.
Most products are quite costly, but there are lots of smaller priced products too.
There’s a tonne of $20-$500 stuff, as well as lots of $2000+ products as well.
– I’d like to get this part of the site up to $2000/month consistent income. This will supplement the main site income nicely.
So questions wise (what am I thinking/wondering):
– Any ideas why my stats are so up and down?
– With the Conversion %, I’m really unsure how to get this more consistently higher? I know that when it’s higher, I make more money on Amazon…and the stats certainly show that.
Still, isn’t Conversion purely down to Amazon (which I know is notoriously for being great at conversions). So why does my Conversion % go up and down so much?
– It seems like the number of clicks I send doesn’t have a direct relationship with the money I make?
